Honorary Member:
  1. )Eligibility:
    1. Any eminent person from India or abroad, who has made significant contributions to the cause of Plastic Surgery in Kerala or to KPSA
    2. Who has been sponsored by a “Member” and
    3. Who has been recommended by the Executive Council ( recommendation from the Executive Council to clearly mention the claim to eminence and the contribution of the person to the cause of Plastic Surgery in Kerala or to KPSA) shall be considered eligible for admission to Honorary Membership
  2. )Rights & Privileges:
    1. Honorary Members do not have to pay any fee.
    2. Honorary Membership will confer lifelong privilege to participate as an honored guest in the scientific and cultural activities of the KPSA without having to pay the membership subscription. However they will not have the right to vote in General Body.
Full Life Member:
  1. Eligibility
      1. A surgeon who has obtained recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery namely M.S (Plastic Surgery), M.Ch(Plastic Surgery), FRCS (Plastic Surgery), DNB (Plastic surgery) & Diplomate in American Board (Plastic Surgery) or any degree or qualification from any other country, which is considered equivalent to M.Ch /DNB / or FRCS (Plastic Surgery) by Medical Council of India
      2. Application for membership shall be made in the prescribed application form, in which the candidate will be duly proposed and seconded by “Full Life Members” of KPSA .

    Attested photocopies of certificates of qualification and registration certificates from the State branch of Medical Council of India will have to be attached along with the application form. These will be scrutinized by the executive council and if found eligible, the name will be recommended by the Executive Council to General Body of the KPSA

    1. Once approved by the General Body the candidate shall be considered eligible to be admitted as Full Life Members.
  2. Obligations:
    1. Maintain the abiding interest in Plastic Surgery
    2. Observe high standards of medical ethics and behavior
    3. Uphold the objectives, the good name, the dignity and the traditions of KPSA and put in all possible efforts to achieve this
    4. Take part actively in all activities of KPSA
    5. Pay the life- membership fee which will be fixed and revised from time to time by the General Body.
    6. Pay any other subscription or fee, in addition to life membership fee, as approved by the general Body from time to time, which may become necessary for smooth functioning of the Association.
  3. Rights & Privileges
    1. A life member shall be entitled to:
    2. Participate in all activities of the KPSA
    3. Participate in General Body Meeting
    4. Vote at a General Body Meeting
    5. Stand for election of the Executive Council
    6. Membership & Privileges resulting from the affiliation of the KPSA to various national & international bodies.
    7. Receive the journal, newsletter and other publications on such payment as may be decided by the KPSA.
Associate Life Membership:
  1. Eligibility
    1. Doctors qualified & practicing in allied specialities and interested in Plastic surgery may be considered for associate membership.
    2. Who is duly proposed and seconded in the prescribed form by a member of KPSA and
    3. Whose name after proper scrutiny is recommended by the Executive Council and approved by the General Body shall be considered legible to be admitted as Associate Life Member
  2. Obligations:
    1. Maintain the abiding interest in Plastic Surgery
    2. Observe high standards of medical ethics and behavior
    3. Maintain good relationship with fellow members
    4. Uphold the objectives, the good name, the dignity and the traditions of KPSA
    5. Pay the Associate life membership fee which will be fixed and revised from time to time by the General Body
    6. Pay any other subscription or fee, in addition to life membership fee, as approved by the General Body from time to time, which may become necessary for smooth functioning of the Association.
    7. If they happen to become full life member subject to the fulfillment of eligibility for the same, they will have to pay the full life-membership fee as on that day.
  3. Rights & Privileges
    1. Associate Members can participate in the scientific and cultural activities of the KPSA and attend the General Body Meetings in special situations.
    2. However they will not have the right to vote in GB
    3. Receive the journal, newsletter and other publications on such payment as may be decided by the KPSA
    4. They will not be entitled for Membership & Privileges resulting from the affiliation of the KPSA to various national & international bodies.
Post graduate Membership
  1. ) Eligibility:
    1. Postgraduate students in plastic surgery and in allied specialties, who are recommended by a member, scrutinised by the Executive Council and approved by the general body can become a PG student member
    2. Their membership will be annual and will be automatically terminated when they pass the qualifying examination or discontinue / are terminated from the course / as per the Clause F of Article I
  2. ) Obligation:
    1. Maintain the abiding interest in Plastic Surgery
    2. Observe high standards of medical ethics and behavior
    3. Maintain good relationship with fellow members
    4. Uphold the objectives, the good name, the dignity and the traditions of KPSA
    5. Pay the annual membership fee which will be fixed and revised from time to time by the General Body until their membership comes to an end.
    6. Pay any other subscription or fee, in addition to annual membership fee, as approved by the general Body from time to time, which may become necessary for smooth functioning of the Association.
    7. If they happen to continue their membership into Associate Life membership or full life membership (before the completion of the year of PG Trainee membership), they will have to pay the full amount of the subscription for the new membership.
  3. ) Rights & Privileges:
    1. PG trainee members can participate in the scientific and cultural activities of the KPSA. They cannot attend the GB except in special situations.
    2. They are not entitled for any other right & privilege.
Membership of a member may be terminated, if he/she so desires, after
  1. completing special assignments if any given or properly handing it over to another member notified by Executive Council
  2. returning all the money, documents, records, stationary and assets belonging to KPSA which he may be possessing in his capacity as a special member and
  3. one month’s notice in writing to the secretary.
Membership of a member may be terminated in the event of demise of the member
On non-payment of Dues:

If the member does not clear the dues for three consecutive years, his / her membership is liable to be terminated. If a member does not attend five consecutive general body meetings or annual conferences without proper reasons and prior intimation by letter to the Secretary, his / her membership is liable to be terminated In cases of Clauses 2 & 3 mentioned above, the matter will be intimated by Executive Council to the General Body for termination of membership and the membership shall stand terminated by a decision of a simple majority of the members present and voting.

On Improper, Harmful, Unethical or Prejudicial Conduct:
  1. If it shall appear to the EC that the conduct of a member is, or has at any time been, such as to be prejudicial to the KPSA and/or the objects for which it was formed and exists, the Executive Council shall have the power at its discretion to recommend to the General Body, suspension of that member.
  2. The recommendation to suspend a member by the Executive Council shall be intimated to all members when notice is served for the General Body meeting. During the General Body meeting, the President or his deputy shall explain why the Executive Council considers suspension of the member. The President or his deputy shall then put the proposal to the members present at the General Body who shall decide by voice vote to uphold or not the decision of the Executive Council to suspend the member. If the GB insists on secret ballot, then vote by secret ballot will decide the outcome. Within 10 days following the date of the General Body Meeting when the decision was taken to or not to suspend a particular member, notice shall be sent to the particular member, by the President or his deputy intimating the decision of the GB.
  3. Termination of membership of a member, if required, shall be effected by the same process followed for suspension.
